time was passed so easily

i dream of forest green

Matt and I re-visited a wildlife sanctuary. The last time we were here, it was spring. I probably wrote about it last year. Everything is so overgrown this time. Grass and shrubbery reaching well above my knees. The sound of insects buzzing and groaning. The bright, sun shining over us. It was warm, but it was nice. There were breezes.

Wonderful memories were made during my visit in New England. Scrabble games accompanied with good, but mostly bad/funny 90s nostalgic music. Attempted meditations. Indulgence. Re-living our childhood by playing "hide and seek" then "tag". Letting our imagination run wild. Being silly.

And so, this is how my summer ends.
But he will come back to me soon.

we stayed at a friend's apartment in austin with his calico cat. it was a pleasant little studio with so many art books to look through but the highlight for me was the vintage floral green couch. comfortable and pretty. and despite my allergy to the cat fur, i still would like to picture our future with a kitty or two.

matt's art show opening was a nice ending to our trip, which was short but sweet. and although it was hot, i still enjoyed our late night taco run with some very cool people sitting underneath the stringed christmas lights. since going to austin, we haven't gotten out much. besides going to a very neat thrift shop weeks earlier, a basement full of wondrous trinkets and nostalgic treasures. matt bought me a lovely 1960's creamy floral crown that is now hanging in my room.

the link between heaven and earth. the goddess of the rainbow.
a watercolor painting of a dream in pink, purple, blue, and green.

matt left for swansea but he will be back soon. i keep telling myself this! and when he does this weekend, we will do "summer" things like eat lots of fruit, watch all kinds of movies, complain about the scorching sun, take many photos, and perhaps go to the zoo?

i realize that this place has become a journal of keepsakes of precious memories of my adventures, my dreams, and my love. they are from my heart all knotted together in electronic form. this introverted sanctuary that reminds me of a time before social networking sites ever existed. a personal domain of sorts. as much as i like to go on tumblr and reblog images. it is nice to just write once in a while.
and it is quiet here...
....
oh, so quiet.
