recite those hymns in such a way that the gods will be attracted

christmas planting

being home for the holidays is comforting. we actually have a christmas plant instead of a tree. i like hanging up the ornaments every year, they are so precious. they shine under the light brilliantly and you can't help but notice, and hold one inside the palm of your hands, to feel the warmth of the light.

things that make me smile:
+ snowflakes slowly falling outside the window, as if time stopped for a moment
+ seeing white lights glitter on the naked trees
+ the atmosphere of an antique coffee/tea shop like Mcnulty's
+ receiving little surprises
+ the smell of jasmine flowers at night
+ listening to a song on repeat until you just FEEL

a glimmer of light

"She tells her love while half asleep,
In the dark hours,
With half-words whispered low:
As Earth stirs in her winter sleep
And puts out grass and flowers
Despite the snow,
Despite the falling snow."

*yes! Christmas plant..good idea
*cute pictures
*the weather report for tomorrow says
"Blizzard Watch in effect from Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning." They typically overestimate but hopefully not as I'm sort of looking forward to gusts of snowy wind!

@ marcia - the blue color from the dress looks so much prettier in person, it kind of faded away in the photograph. thanks sweetie!

@ matt - thank you :) i'm looking forward to this "snowstorm" as well. it hasn't started here yet so i hope it'll catch me by surprise. i remember a time when there was an angry looking snowstorm brewing in the distance while i was getting out of whole foods one morning with 30mph gusts of wind, but it subsided into thin air after 5 minutes.
